Before the Treatment
Prior to any treatment at COCO Skin Clinic you will receive a consultation with your treatment provider to determine if this is the right treatment for you. During this time, you will be able to ask questions and have any concerns addressed. We recommend that you use broad spectrum SPF50+ sunscreen daily. It is important to avoid extended sun exposure. Avoiding a tan including artificial tans such as spray tans prior to treatment is also important. We will take a medical history including a list of medications to ensure that there are no contraindications to your treatment.
During the Treatment
The procedure has no discomfort. First, we must remove any trace of skincare products and makeup from your skin. You will be asked to wear goggles as eye protection and a test patch will be performed to determine your skins reaction. During the treatment you will experience slight “rubber band snap” sensation followed by mild warmth. Your treatment provider will alternate between different settings to address different skin concerns.
After the Treatment
You are likely to experience mild (if any) redness in the treatment area that will resolve within a short period of time. Treated capillaries may disappear immediately or they may darken to a deep purple colour before being absorbed by the body. Any treated pigmentation in the area may darken over the following days before breaking down and fading or flaking off. You can apply make-up and return to work and resume most of your activities immediately after your treatment.
